Special Forces Rapid Response Detachment to Be Created in Ukrainian Army: NATO Will Advise

One of the directions of NATO assistance to Ukraine will be creation of Special Forces rapid response detachment in the armed forces.

Ambassador of Ukraine in the Alliance Ihor Dolhov announced communicating with journalists in Brussels, Censor.NET reports citing Europeiska Pravda.

"I will tell you a little secret regarding specific project (in which Kyiv counts on the Alliance support). There is a need to create a new detachment in the Armed Forces - special operations one. This is the direction we are going to work at," he said.

He noted that currently the main NATO instrument for the establishment of the detachment will be the advisory support, although there may be new forms of aid provided later on.

"This Armed Forces demand is not new at all, but it should be solved. And if there is no own mechanism, then the first thing to do - is to look at the experience of neighbors," he explained.

Recall, Ukraine and NATO have agreed to increase the number of the Alliance military advisers in Ukraine.

Kyiv also said the Alliance partners during the meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission in Brussels that Ukraine canceled the non-alignment status.
