This was stated by activist Anton Chernysh on his Facebook page, Censor.NET reports citing LB.UA.
According to journalists, law enforcement officers have established that Kostrenko was stabbed to death in his apartment, with no traces of the apartment being broken into. At the same time, his car was found at the house of a movie director Yurii Omelchuk, whom the deceased was defending from "raiders" (people trying to take away business or land - ed.).
"As far as we know, he was not doing anything so serious that someone would want to kill him," activist of the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Maidan Dmytro Karp stated.
Criminal proceedings and investigation have been initiated in regard to the murder.
"At the time of his death Oleksander was engaged in struggle against corruption in the government. Together with me he was a member of the Advisory Board of the Prosecutor General's Office, fought with illegal evictions, and was indispensable consultant in legal and procedural matters," Chernysh wrote.
