 Close Combat in Stanytsia Luhanska on Saturday: Terrorists Shelled Firefighters Who Tried To Extinguish Fire

Over the past 24 hours, terrorists of the so-called LPR continued shelling Ukraine-controlled towns and villages of the Luhansk region.

The terrorists shelled the towns of Popasna and Schastia, as well as the villages of Triokizbenka, Horske, Krymske, Sokolniki, Makarove, and Stanytsia Luhanska with heavy artillery and mortars. Luhansk Regional State Administration Chairman Hennadii Moskal's press-service states, Censor.NET reports.

According to Moskal, the worst situation is still observed in Stanytsia Luhanska village. Yesterday the militants fired Grad rockets at the village from 9:30 to 10 p.m., and then again at 1 a.m.

"At night, there was a close combat between the ATO forces and the militants in Kondrashivka district. Four houses burned down as a result of fire. The saboteurs started firing machine guns at the firefighters who came to Lenin Street and tried to extinguish the fire. The rescuers stayed on the ground for a long time, and could extinguish the fire only after the gunmen had left. There is no information about losses among the locals," Moskal states.

At the moment, it is relatively calm in the village. The repair crews managed to repair all life-support systems, that is gas, central heating, and electricity.

Moskal also clarifies information about yesterday's shelling of Popasna town. Two pensioners were wounded by terrorist fire. An 82-year-old man died from received injuries.
