"This course is difficult, challenging, but it is the course that the whole Ukrainian nation professes and the course the country needs. It is inevitable regardless of Russia and Putin's (Russian president Vladimir Putin. - Ed.) actions," he said, opening the government session Wednesday.
The prime minister is convinced that the new government will continue to work in this direction.
He also stressed that today's session will be the last one of the current government.
"According to the Constitution of Ukraine, the Cabinet abdicates responsibilities for the newly elected Verkhovna Rada. The first meeting of the Ukrainian parliament is expected to be held tomorrow, so the last session of the current Ukrainian government, which has the appropriate constitutional powers is taking place now," Yatseniuk said.
