SBU: Terrorists Attempt to Create a Foothold in Kharkiv Region for Further Terrorist Attacks All Over Ukraine

The militants are trying to undermine the situation in the Kharkiv region by terrorist attacks.

This was stated by advisor to the head of the SBU Markiian Lubkivskyi, Censor.NET reports citing Gordon.

"There are attempts to undermine the situation in the Kharkiv region, which borders with the ATO area. The militants and terrorists are trying to create a kind of foothold in the Kharkiv region. However, we have a highly professional SBU team working there, which is backed and supported by the central office, so the work is very effective and we manage to prevent many acts of terrorism and sabotage prepared by the militants in the region," he said.

According to Lubkivskyi, the terrorists' choice of Kharkiv region is not accidental.

"Militants chose the Kharkiv region as an area which, on the one hand, they can undermine, that is provoke anti-Ukrainian sentiment among the population, and on the other hand, turn it into a kind of foothold for further terrorist attacks in the territory of Ukraine. This is our understanding of the situation," Lubkivskyi said.

"Geography of the terrorist attacks is unfortunately very wide. But the Kharkiv region is now under terrorist threat and is in their sight. We can see it. Although we have cases where terrorists are neutralized in other regions and large cities," the adviser to the head of the SBU said.
