"According to the information that I have from DTEK and Centerenergo, the Russian companies indeed have suspended coal exports to Ukraine," he said.
"I'm not sure about the reasons, but I can say with confidence that they are not economic. Either DTEK and Centerenergo pay for the thermal coal they are purchasing in time," - said Prodan.
It was reported earlier that Russia suspended deliveries of power-generating coal to Ukraine. According to the media, the shipments were stopped in the evening of Nov. 21. Meanwhile the terms of coal deliveries resumption are not known.
