 Prodan Confirmed that Russia Has Suspended Deliveries of Coal to Ukraine

Energy Minister Yurii Prodan confirmed that Russian companies have suspended to export coal to Ukraine.

He said Ukrainska Pravda commenting on the information that the supply of coal from Russia was allegedly suspended on Nov. 21, Censor.NET reports.

"According to the information that I have from DTEK and Centerenergo, the Russian companies indeed have suspended coal exports to Ukraine," he said.

"I'm not sure about the reasons, but I can say with confidence that they are not economic. Either DTEK and Centerenergo pay for the thermal coal they are purchasing in time," - said Prodan.

It was reported earlier that Russia suspended deliveries of power-generating coal to Ukraine. According to the media, the shipments were stopped in the evening of Nov. 21. Meanwhile the terms of coal deliveries resumption are not known.
