Biden's visit could be called symbolic, because on Thursday, Nov. 20 he turns 72.
Biden will be on an official visit to Ukraine on Nov. 20-21.
According to U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Jeffrey Payette, during his visit Biden intends to discuss the issues of reforms and fighting corruption with the Ukrainian authorities.
"His attention will be focused on a strong signal of extending the US support to the Ukrainian people, President Poroshenko and the Ukrainian government," Payette said and noted that Biden has a lot to say on these matters.
Also the visit of the U.S. vice president will focus on facts of constant violation of the territorial integrity of Ukraine by Russia.
According to the press service of adviser to Ukrainian President Oleh Makhnytskyi, Biden's visit will clear up the chance of U.S. weapons supply to Ukraine in case of a full-scale military operations in the east.
According to the representative of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis, during a meeting of Biden with the leaders of Ukraine they will discuss the direction of political and economic cooperation, providing further comprehensive support of the United States on security issues, including the energy sector.
