"Today I am proud as ever of Ukraine. Ukraine has never been so united - from Transcarpathia to Zaporizhia and from Kharkiv from Chernihiv," the head of state said.
He specifically stressed that the majority of those defending the integrity and independence of Ukraine in the East are Russian-speaking citizens, but they love Ukraine in Russian language no less than in Ukrainian.
After the meeting, the President, together with representatives of the Diaspora sang the national anthem of Ukraine.
During the official visit to the Republic of Moldova Poroshenko laid flowers to the monument of Taras Shevchenko in Balti, visited the Ukrainian House. According to statistics, Balti is a home for more than 30,000 Ukrainians.
