 Explosion Occurs in Downtown Kharkiv. No One Was Injured. VIDEO

An explosion took place in the center of Kharkiv at 6:00 p.m.

This was stated by chief of the press service of the Kharkiv region prosecutor's office Vita Dubovik, Censor.NET reports citing RBC-Ukraine.

"An explosion occurred In the center of Kharkiv. It Is yet unclear where. Rescue services, police, SBU, and prosecutor's office have been dispatched to the scene," Dubovik said.

According to the posts of local residents on social networks, fire trucks are moving toward Danilevskoho str. Supposedly the explosion occurred at the substation of the military hospital.


Advisor to Interior Minister Anton Herashchenko stated: "Just now an explosion occurred in Kharkiv on Trinklera str. in the vicinity of the Kharkiv military hospital. There are no victims. Windows in nearby buildings have been shattered.

"Heads of local Interior Ministry and SBU have arrived at the scene. The situation in the city is under control.

If the explosion was not a malfunction, which will be determined by the experts today, it is possible that the explosion is a terrorist attack aimed at intimidating and destabilizing the residents of Kharkiv, and creating a tense atmosphere for convalescent soldiers and officers," Herashchenko wrote.
