Herewith, Poroshenko stated that there is no inner conflict in Ukraine.
"We are dealing with external aggression of the Russian Federation. Russian troops invaded the territory of Ukraine. We are grateful for the support of the international community and separate countries that have supported us in resisting the aggression," Poroshenko said.
According to him, there are different ways and formats to stabilize the situation in the east of Ukraine.
"The Minsk Agreements may also serve as one of the bases. The terms of agreements must be strictly followed. That is to stop the war, close the borders, release the prisoners, stop supplying weapons and equipment to the terrorists, start political negotiations, and hold authentic elections in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions," Poroshenko said.
"I am an optimist. I believe that we will be able to find a middle ground and start political negotiations to solve this problem," Poroshenko said.
Reportedly, Poroshenko also urged the West to toughen sanctions against Russian Federation.
At the same time it is necessary to continue the policy of sanctions not to punish someone but to make each of the parties to fulfill its obligations.
