The shelling was conducted against the villages of Popasna (Poliarna Street was shelled by the artillery inflicting no significant damage), Krymske, Triokhizbenka, Chornukhyne, Artema, Olkhove, Pshenychne, and the town of Zolote (it was shelled four times during the day).
The shelling damaged gas pipeline in the town of Shchastia again. About six thousand consumers in the town as well as several villages in Stanytsia-Luhanska district of the Luhansk region and several cities and villages on the territory controlled by the militants were left without gas.
"The Stanytsia-Luhanska district suffered the most damage for the last 24 hours. The heavy artillery shelling of Shchors, Kalinin, Krupska, Krasnohvardiiska and Zhukov Streets in the district center was carried out starting from 10:00 a.m. Projectiles damaged 12 houses, three of which were destroyed by direct hits and cannot be repaired. Unfortunately, there were casualties among the civilian population," Luhansk Regional State Administration Head Hennadii Moskal said.
According to him, a 58-year-old woman who worked as a nurse was killed by the shelling. In addition, one man was seriously injured - he had his arm shot away. During the battle on Kalinin Street the machine gun and assault rifle bullets hit the roof of the secondary school #1, where the pensions were submitted at that time. Fortunately, nobody was hurt.
The shelling also inflicted other villages of the Stanytsia-Luhanska district.
"The forest in the vicinity of Valuiske village caught fire as a result of shelling from Grad multiple rocket launchers. The shelling from Grad has completely destroyed private house in Artema village. There is no information about victims," the statement reads.
The power transmission lines were also damaged during combats. There is no power in the part of Stanytsia-Luhanska village, Olkhova railway station, Olkhova villa quarter, and the village of Plotyna.
