Russian Government Allows Carrying Arms for Self-Defense

The Russian government has decided to allow license gun owners to carry weapons for self-defense.

This is reported by Censor.NET citing Gazeta.ru.

According to the previous norms, Russian citizens had the right to bring a weapon to a competition or training in shooting and hunting. This issue is regulated by the "Rules of Turnover of Civilian and Service Weapons and Ammunition in the Territory of the Russian Federation." The government Decree supplements the document with "as well as in self-defense."

Self-defense weapons legally include smooth-bore and long-bore weapons, restricted firearms for traumatic and gas action and sound and light action.
