SBU claims they prevented a terrorist attack planned against the delegation of the Netherlands authorities in Kharkiv.

This was announced by the SBU Head Valentyn Nalyvaichenko on a briefing Tuesday, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainska Pravda.

Nalyvaichenko said that a group of 12 people, including its leaders was detained. Weapons were seized from the saboteurs including anti-personnel mines produced in Russia, which are banned by the international conventions. The group was detained on suspicion of having committed a terrorist act in The Wall pub in Kharkiv as well as explosions near recruiting offices and other buildings.

"But the most important thing is that during the interrogation of one of the participants of this terrorist group we received clear evidence that they were ordered and provided explosives to commit the terrorist act against the delegation of the Netherlands, which scheduled to visit the state-owned Malyshev Plant. The instructions and weapons were provided by the Russian special services, which, by the way, have also trained the members of this group near the city of Tambov," he said.

When Nalyvaichenko was asked by the reporters why the terrorists have paid so much attention to the foreign delegation, he said: "Why did they pay so much attention to aiming at Boeing using SAM Buk? Though they aimed at Russian Aeroflot airliner but hit the Malaysian one because it was in the same colors and flew the same route over the territory of the Donetsk region. It is through the mental illness of those people who continue to sponsor, train and transfer funding, who continue committing crimes. Besides the fact that neither we nor the OSCE or the Netherlands cannot collect the bodies (of the people deceased in the crash - Ed.), they are also intimidating foreign delegations so that they would not dare to come to Kharkiv and investigate the crimes. We insist on the terrorist attack investigation as well as the Netherlands and Malaysia and other countries which lost their citizens... This is the reason - to hide the crimes of the terrorists." Nalyvaichenko said that it was his personal point of view but not the official position of the SBU.

It should be reminded that the explosion occurred in Kharkiv pub The Wall Nov. 9. According to preliminary data, the explosive device detonated in the bar premises. 22 people, young ones mostly, were in the club at that time. 13 of the visitors were injured.

The Security Service of Ukraine has successfully completed a special operation Nov. 17 to neutralize the subversive and reconnaissance group, which operated in Kharkiv city and the Kharkiv region, and was involved in the mentioned explosion.
