"We have the forces and the means to protect the country. There is no reason to panic," Tseholko quoted the president.
He also noted that Poroshenko spoke calmly and confidently.
"The security forces report on the steps undertaken to protect Ukraine," Tseholko noted.
According to the press service of the president, today Ukrainian army is able and prepared to defend the borders of our state.
"There is no reason to panic. We have developed and in the last 2 months implemented serious steps to prepare our Armed Forces and other units to defend Ukraine," the head of state said.
"If the events begin to unfold contrary to the Peace plan, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are ready and are able to fight back today," the president said.
He stressed that Ukraine has always advocated peaceful settlement of the situation in the Donbas, and made every effort to prevent escalation. "We see a solution to the issue of individual districts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions as exclusively political, peaceful. But to date we have the forces and the means in order to protect the state. Gunpowder should be kept dry," he said.
According to Poroshenko, the domestic economy is now operating under the principle of "everything for the front, everything for the victory" to meet the needs of the military. He said that recently all efforts have been made to reinforce and resupply the troops in the ATO area.
