 Obama Urged Putin to Respect Minsk Agreements at Beijing Summit - White House

U.S. President Barack Obama called on Russia to respect the September ceasefire agreement concluded between Kyiv and the pro-Russian terrorists from eastern Ukraine.

According to the "Voice of America", Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Communications and Speechwriting Ben Rhodes announced that Obama said this to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin during their informal talks at the summit in Beijing this week, Censor.NET reports citing Liga.

Rhodes also told reporters that Obama will discuss the crisis in Ukraine with European leaders on the sidelines of the upcoming G20 summit in Brisbane.

NATO and European observers reported that Russia has recently deployed tanks, weapons, and troops in Ukraine. The representative of Ukraine to the United Nations said at an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council on Wednesday that the combats have not started only due to Kyiv's restraint. Herewith Ukrainian authorities believe that the Kremlin is planning an armed invasion of eastern Ukraine.
