 Australian Prime Hinted Putin at Need for Apology and Compensation for Boeing: Russian Rocket Shot it Down

Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott and Russian President Vladimir Putin have discussed investigation of the Malaysian Boeing downing in eastern Ukraine during a brief meeting on the sidelines of the APEC summit in Beijing. Abbott hinted Putin at the need for apology and compensation.

ABC News informed Tuesday, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

"When the United States inadvertently shot down a passenger plane, they duly apologized and paid compensation," Tony Abbott recalled a situation where the United States accidentally shot down the Iranian passenger airliner in 1988.

In addition, Abbott, as quoted by his government press service, said Putin that: "Australia was in possession of information suggesting that MH17 was destroyed by a missile from a launcher that had come out of Russia, was fired from inside eastern Ukraine and then returned to Russia."

The Prime Minister said it was incumbent on all countries, including Russia, to respect the United Nations Security Council resolution 2166 and to cooperate fully with the independent investigation.

Recall that the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in July killed 298 people in the skies over Ukraine, including 38 Australian citizens and residents.
