 1,762 Soldiers Killed in War With Russia and Posthumously Received Status of ATO Participants

The status of the anti-terrorist operation participant has been posthumously provided to 1,762 soldiers.

This was stated at a briefing of Minister for Social Policy Liudmyla Denysova, Censor.NET reports citing Liga.

Denysova noted that to obtain the status of the ATO participant for a fallen soldier, his relatives should contact the Department of Social Protection.

"I regret to say this, but as many as 1,762 people applied for and received such status," she said.

On Nov. 8, three Ukrainian servicemen were killed. During the whole period of the so-called truce, over 100 Ukrainian soldiers were killed.

On Oct. 7 Chief Military Prosecutor of Ukraine Anatolii Matios announced that since the beginning of the ATO, 953 servicemen of the Armed Forces, Interior Ministry, State Border Service, the Security Service, and the National Guard were killed.
