 1,700 People in ATO Area Still Missing – Security Service of Ukraine

It is difficult for the SSU to say how many POWs the militants in the Donbas are still holding. The Security Service assured that they are trying to liberate Ukrainian negotiators who have been captured recently.

Acording to official data, 1,695 people are missing in the Donbas, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

"We have information that 1,695 people are missing. But it is difficult to say how many of them are POWs," Vasyl Vovk, head of the Main Investigation Department of the Security Service of Ukraine, said. He also confirmed that the terrorists captured five Ukrainian negotiators in the village of Nikishyne (Donetsk region). Vovk said he hopes they will be released soon.

"These people, servicemen, are real POWs. We know where they are and we are already working on their liberation. I think it will happen in the nearest future," he noted. Vovk added that the SSU has already held about a hundred DNA examinations to identify the found bodies. On November 8, one of the leaders of the negotiating group for the release and exchange of prisoners Volodymyr Ruban said that 400 to 500 people are held at the moment by Donetsk and Luhansk terrorist groups.

Earlier Censor.NET reported that another Crimean Tatar, Usein Seitnabiev, is missing in Crimea.
