Putin Ordered Yanukovych to Shoot People at Maidan, Soros Says

Russian President Vladimir Putin demanded the then President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych to use force against Maidan earlier this year.

This was stated at "Freedom of Speech" TV program by American financier George Soros, Censor.NET reports citing UNN.

"The big mistake was the use of force (against Maidan. - Ed.) And it was Putin's initiative, twice. The first time Putin has concluded agreements with Viktor Yanukovych of Ukraine for money, he said at the time he was holding the first 2 billion in his hands: "Do you want to get the money? Get these people out of the city, show your power! ". Then the police went on the offensive, but the people instead of fleeing from the Maidan came to the Maidan. It was then that Yanukovych came to an end. But Putin told Yanukovych again - shoot live ammunition at people . And that's when the new Ukraine was born," Soros said.
