Japan Will Provide $6 million for Restoration of Donbas

President's wife Marina Poroshenko met with the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Mr. Shigeki Sumi and his wife Tomoko Sumi.

According to Censor.NET citing the press service of the head of state, during the meeting they discussed the continuation of existing projects, among them - the reconstruction of aeration station in Bortnichi, imports of medical equipment from Japan, the continuation of the Kusanone human safety project. The sides discussed the situation in the East of Ukraine - the existing problems and possible ways to help resolving them.+

Marina Poroshenko, in the person of Ambassador expressed gratitude to the people of Japan for the support and assistance that the Japanese side provided for a long time to Ukraine. "Today I and Mr. Ambassador discussed two new projects in Ukraine, with the support of the Government of Japan. The first one is the help in the amount of $6 million to restore the Donbas, and $1 million for the medical needs through the UN Development Program. In the near future under the relevant agreement, the funds will be transferred to its intended use," the president's wife noted.
