On Nov. 6, 2014, in the course of a special operation in Mariupol, the Criminal Investigation Department in conjunction with special unit of the Interior Ministry Sokol and the National Guard detained citizen K, a 39 year-old native of Mariupol, call-sign "Roma Khipish".

In the period of occupation of Mariupol in May-June 2014 by the DPR militants, he was the commandant of the city, organized checkpoints, issued arms and ammunition to the insurgents, and was directly involved in kidnapping of citizens and attacks on military units of internal troops.

This is stated by Advisor to the Interior Minister Anton Herashchenko on his Facebook page, Censor.NET reports.

"After the liberation of Mariupol he was in hiding in Russia's Rostov region for a long time, where he reportedly undergone a special commando training. Upon return to the territory of Ukraine, he took an active part in the fighting on the side of the DPR and LPR militants.

In October 2014 he was sent to Mariupol by commander of the DPR sabotage unit nicknamed "Rubin" to organize a network of agents and conduct sabotage activities aimed at the destruction of military equipment and ammunition storage, as well as destabilizing the region as a whole. Anyone who harms Ukraine will sooner or later be caught and punished!" the official wrote.
