 Only 11% of Russians Want to Accept Terrorist Republics of Donbas to Russian Federation, Poll Shows

Only 3% of Russians believe that Russia should help Ukraine to regain control of the territories occupied by the terrorists of the Donetsk and Luhansk "People's Republics".

At that, 11% of Russians believe that these areas must be accepted into the Russian Federation. This is shown by the results of a poll, Censor.NET reports citing UNIAN.

In particular, when asked what position should Russia take regarding the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk "People's Republics", 43% of respondents said "Do not interfere and remain neutral", 23% - "to recognize the DPR and LPR as independent states", 11% - "to accept the DPR and LPR in the Russian Federation", 8% - "to help DPR and LPR to expand the autonomy while remaining a part of Ukraine", 3% - "to help Kyiv authorities to regain control of the DPR and LPR territories".

15% of those surveyed were undecided.

The initiative Russian opinion poll was conducted on Oct. 18-19, 2014. 1,600 respondents were interviewed in 132 towns and villages in 45 regions, territories, and republics of Russia. The statistical error does not exceed 3.5%.
