 One Hundred Ukrainian Soldiers Were Killed and About 600 Injured During "Ceasefire" in ATO Area – Foreign Ministry

More than 100 Ukrainian soldiers were killed and about 600 of them were wounded since the announcement of the ceasefire in the anti-terrorist operation area in eastern Ukraine.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis said at a press briefing on Tuesday, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

Despite some reduction of hostilities the insurgents and the Russian troops have not stopped shelling the ATO forces positions, have not retreated from the demarcation line, and continue conducting offensive operations. As a result, more than 100 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed and about 600 were wounded over the past two months," Perebyinis said.

The protocol on ceasefire in the east was signed at a meeting of the contact group on Ukraine September 5 in Minsk. The armistice came into force at 06:00 pm Kyiv time the same day.
