"If the West wants Russia to take notice of its opinion and to adhere to international rules, the logical step would be now to use all possible measures to increase pressure on the Kremlin, including sanctions strengthening," Klimkin said.
He called for the continuation of the existing format of negotiations with participation of Ukraine, Russia, and the EU to resolve the situation in the east of Ukraine. However, he denied the possibility of separate Kyiv dialogue with the terrorists.
The minister also expressed his belief that Kyiv will be able to regain control of the eastern regions. "Those are the Ukrainian regions - and we will return them," Klimkin said.
