Sloviansk Ex-mayor Shtepa May Be Sentenced to Life in Prison – Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine

Kharkiv region Prosecutors Office sent a bill of particulars concerning Sloviansk ex-mayor Neli Shtepa to the court.

Censor.NET reports citing Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukrainepress service.

"The city ex-chairwoman is accused of calling to change the borders of Ukraine, holding of the pseudo-referendum on the separation of the Donetsk region from Ukraine, the creation of conditions for the terrorist groups' and organizations' activities," the statement says.

Herewith the Prosecutors Office emphasizes that the maximum punishment for those deeds is the life imprisonment.

The Prosecutor General's Office reminded that Mrs. Shtepa was detained this year July. She was announced the ultimate suspicion of a criminal offense Oct. 8, statutory by the Part 3 of the Article 110 (violation of territorial supremacy and integrity of Ukraine, which caused death of people) and Part 1 of the Article 258-3 (creation of a terrorist group or organization) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
