 EBRD to Allocate 700 Million Euros for Restoration of Donbas

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will allocate one billion euros in 2015 for the implementation of infrastructure projects in the east of Ukraine.

Senior banker of EBRD office in Kyiv Iryna Marchenko stated, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

"The EBRD to allocate 700 million for the Donbas restoration and 300 million that will be invested in the construction of the Kharkiv Subway in 2015," she said, noting that 70% of these funds will be allocated to small and medium sized private companies.

Overall the EBRD is going to lend Ukraine almost 2 billion euros in 2014-2015. In particular, there are agreements already signed with the Ukrainian companies this year for implementation of the projects on the infrastructure and municipal sector improvement for 700 million, and conclusion of the agreement worth 200 million euros with Naftohaz of Ukraine to upgrade the Ukrainian gas transport system is almost completed. Earlier, Censor.NET reported the EBRD to be confident that Ukraine has enough gas for the heating season.
