No new US missiles in Europe but more and more new Russian ones, - NATO chief on INF Treaty. VIDEO

NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, expressed concern about the growing number of Russian missiles deployed in Europe which are capable of carrying nuclear warheads.

"When it comes to INF Treaty (the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty – Ed.), we have to remember that the problem is the deployment of new Russian missiles," Stoltenberg said in Trondheim, Norway, on Oct. 30 while visiting Exercise Trident Juncture – NATO’s largest exercise since the end of the Cold War, Censor.NET reports citing the Voice of America.

"There are no new U.S. missiles in Europe. But there are more and more Russian missiles – missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads. And those missiles put the INF Treaty in jeopardy. And all NATO allies expressed their concern about new Russian missiles," NATO chief said.

The arms-control treaty was signed in 1987 by Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev.
