US aircraft reconnoitered areas off occupied Crimea coast

U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy reconnaissance aircraft spent hours flying along the coasts of Crimea and the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation on Sunday, Oct. 28.

As reported by Censor.NET citing Korrespondent media outlet, this was stated by Russian media referring to the monitoring data collected by Western aviation-related websites.

According to their information, the air reconnaissance was carried out by the U.S. Air Force RQ-4A Global Hawk unmanned surveillance aircraft and the P-8A Poseidon surveillance aircraft capable of conducting anti-submarine warfare.

They approached the maritime boundary in the vicinity of Sevastopol at a distance of about 13 km, Yalta - 19 km, the Kerch Strait, Novorossiysk, Gelendzhik and Sochi - about 24 km.

Both aircraft took off from U.S. Naval Air Station Sigonella, Sicily.

The U.S. UAVs already took part in reconnaissance missions in Ukraine’s war-torn Donbas region.
