Military Prosecutors Detain Soldiers Refusing to Go to ATO Area

The prospect of facing prison forced 21 servicemen of the Chernihiv military garrison, who refused to go to the ATO zone, to depart for duty.

This is stated by the press service of the military prosecutor's office of the Central region of Ukraine, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

"After the announcement of suspicion of two soldiers committing a criminal offense under Part 2, Article 402 of the Criminal Code (disobedience committed by a group of persons punishable by imprisonment for a term of three to seven years), and their detainment, 21 servicemen of this military unit, who refused to obey the orders of the commanding officer, departed for the area of the anti-terrorist operation to perform their military duties," the statement says.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated in regard to two soldiers for disobeying military orders and the preventive measure in the form of detention was put into force. The court set bail at 100,000 hryvnia.
