Chairman of the temporary committee to monitor the situation in Ukraine, acting head of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs Vladimir Dzhabarov said, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax.
"We are ready to cooperate with the new Verkhovna Rada. Russia is open to cooperation and we hope that those contacts that were between the parliamentarians of the State Duma and the Federation Council and the Verkhovna Rada will resume in some format," he said.
However, he was not slack to note that he was allegedly "very difficult to imagine" how it is going to look. He called the new composition of the Verkhovna Rada more "radical" than the previous one.
"Russia recognized the elections as valid, even though there is a serious question to how they were conducted. If such elections were held in any other country, including Russia, the West would never have recognized them legitimate. Nevertheless, these elections were declared valid in the West and in Europe," he said.
