As reported by Censor.NET citing the latest update by the JFO headquarters press center as of Oct. 22, the Russian-led forces committed 12 attacks on the government troops using no heavy weapons banned by the Minsk agreements.
The Russian-occupying troops employed grenade launchers of various systems, large-caliber machine guns and small arms against the defenders of Shchastia, Krymske, Zolote, Pisky, Marinka, Taramchuk, Berezove, Novotroitske, Chermalyk and Lebedynske. Almost half of the attacks were suppressed by the Ukrainian troops’ response fire.
"Our troops’ stronghold in the vicinity of Shchastia came under heavy strike with automatic and tripod-mounted grenade launchers that lasted almost three hours. The majority of the attacks targeted the Ukrainian soldiers deployed near Marinka and Lebedynske.
"The Joint Forces fighters sustained no battle casualties over the past 24-hour period," the statement reads.
Intelligence sources report three invaders killed and two injured yesterday.
"The Russian-occupying troops have committed no attacks today, Oct. 23," the press center added.
