Social policy minister vows Ukrainian pensioners to see their payments recalculated in March

Pensions indexation in 2019 will be carried out no earlier than March since data on inflation and wages will be known around mid-February.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was said by Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine, Andrii Reva on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.

"The figures for inflation in 2018 and wages will be known no earlier than mid-February 2019. After they are formally submitted to the government, the relevant decision will be made and these pension payments will be recalculated after March 1," the minister said.

According to the law, pension payments are indexed based on the formula of 50 percent wage growth for the previous year and 50 percent of the inflation rate for the previous year.

The pension reform provides for the minimum pension payment to be 1,452 hryvnia. The Ukrainian government suggests the parliament in 2019 to allocate to the Pension Fund 27.2 billion hryvnia more than this year.
