 Cabinet To Increase Cash Payments for Soldiers in the ATO Area

The Ukrainian government will increase cash payments to those participating in the anti-terrorist operation, equaling amounts for different units to the level of senior military officer.

This was discussed at the Cabinet of Ministers session on Friday, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainska Pravda.

"To pay and to equal cash payments to all soldiers located in the ATO area," Prime Minister Arsenii Yatseniuk said.

Currently, senior military officers (majors and colonels) receive 21,925 UAH, and from now on "everyone will receive the same," Oleksandr Shlapak, Finance minister, said.

He added that this will require additional $243 miilion UAH from the state budget.

"We have the funds... and will not delay (payments) by an hour," he said.

Yatseniuk said that he would sign the provision about providing the funds in question.
