The conclusions on Ukraine were made during the European Council meeting, which took place in Brussels Friday at the level of heads of state and government of the EU Member States, Censor.NET reports citing UNIAN.
"The European Union expects that Russia will respect the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and contribute to the political stabilization and economic recovery in Ukraine. In this regard, Russia has to take responsibility for the Minsk Agreement's utter implementation. Specifically, the Russian government must prevent any movement of troops, weapons, and militants from its territory to Ukraine. It should make the separatists to carry out the commitments made in Minsk in line with expectations," the conclusions say.
In addition, the EU believes that the Russian Federation should support the OSCE's efforts to resolve the crisis in Ukraine.
"The EU and its Member States to remain fully engaged in support of a political solution to the Ukrainian crisis, including contributions to increase OSCE monitoring capabilities, increasing humanitarian aid, and supporting and assisting Ukraine in the reform process, in particular, decentralization and protection of the national minorities' rights," the conclusions state.
