According to Nalyvaichenko, a group of the so-called Kharkiv guerrillas, led by Russian citizen Pogrebnyak (Belgorod resident) was detained. The guidance and funding was received by Pogrebnyak directly from the central office of the Russian FSB. All the group's militants have undergone training in a special military camp in Belgorod and in a field camp in the Voronezh region.
Another group of five people headed by Russian citizen Mikhail Sazonov was detained in Kharkiv. The detainees were involved in the arson of an ATM and a district military commissariat in Kharkiv. The next assignment of the group was to undermine the main railway, for which purpose magnetic mines were brought in from the territory of the Russian Federation. During the apprehension one of the saboteurs offered resistance and was neutralized.
Two subversive groups were eliminated in the Odesa region. They were preparing sabotage of the transport infrastructure and subversions in military installations on the eve of elections. Members of both groups were involved in organizing the events that took place in Odesa on May 2.
Yet another group of terrorists has been detained as a result of the investigation of the attack on a checkpoint near Odesa. In particular, an unnamed citizen of Ukraine pertaining to one of the online media resources used for recruiting was detained.
