European Currency Reached the Level of 53 Rubles for One Euro for the First Time Ever

Depreciation of the Russian ruble on the Moscow stock exchange continues. Today the euro reached the level of 53 rubles for the first time in history.

RIA Novosti reports citing the Moscow Stock Exchange, Censor.NET informs.

The exchange rate of the ruble against the euro-dollar basket continued to decline moderately in the first hour of currency trading, updating historical lows. The anticipation for S & P decision as for the Russian Federation rating, which can be lowered on Friday to the speculative level, is putting pressure on the ruble exchange rate.

Uncertain dynamics of oil prices also contributes to volatility of the ruble.

Dollar exchange rate in reliance on tomorrow increased to the previous end of day by 18 cents as of 11.16 am Moscow time and was 41.89 rubles, euro raised for 17 kopeks - up to 52.97 rubles, and at 11.25 a.m. it passed the level of 53 rubles, as follows from the Moscow Stock Exchange information. The price of the dual currency basket ($0.55 and 0.45 euros) at the same time increased by 18 kopeks compared to the previous close of business and reached 46.88 rubles.
