This was stated by deputy head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Serhii Kyslytsia, Censor.NET reports citing Twitter. "UNESCO has confirmed that the Autonomous Republic of Crimea belongs to Ukraine, no matter what Russia says or how it is trying to wiggle," Kyslytsia wrote. According to him, three of the 25 participating countries voted against the decision: Russia, Cuba, and China.
Ukrainian side appealed to UNESCO to assist in the preservation of its cultural heritage in Crimea, which is occupied by Russia. Ukraine and UNESCO are developing a program of cultural management in the occupied territories - the Ministry of Culture is currently trying to solve the issue of return of Crimean museums exhibits to Ukraine at the legislative level.
