Poroshenko Hardly Critisized Security Officials for Sluggish Contraband Control: Import Schemens Exist Under Your Shelter

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko sharply critisized the work of the Security Service of Ukraine, customs services, the State Border Service of Ukraine, and police in the segment of contraband control.

Petro Poroshenko heard traditional reports from heads of departments during a meeting in Odesa, and then hit them with criticism that import schemes for various groups of goods into the customs territory of Ukraine continue to exist under the cover of security officials themselves, and it destroys the Ukrainian economy, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

"If you are looking for where to find violation of the customs legislation, mister policeman, mister customs officer, mister prosecutor, mister SBU head, do what I did in the morning - I sent my assistants to the "7th kilometer" (one of the largest markets of Eastern Europe, located in the Odesa region - ed.) ... On the "7th kilometer", they checked the documents of customs clearance, none of the sale points had relevant customs documents," the president resented.

He demanded that the security services join forces in the fight against contaband, noting that this was the second meeting on this issue. If they can not solve these problems, the president said, they will protect the border and the economy of Ukraine not from smuggling, but in the ATO area.
