As reported by Censor.NET citing the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in charge of the Mykolaiv region, Nova Odesa-based police precinct received a report about a 68-year-old local resident, who was firing shots from a home-made weapon at playing children around 5 p.m. A 12-year-old boy and two girls aged 9 and 5 were injured as a result. The attacker received wounds as well. All the injured were taken to a healthcare facility.
It is noted that the parts of the makeshift gun that were found by the police were eventually sent for expert examination.
The investigators initiated criminal proceedings into intended killing which is punishable by 7-15 years in prison.
The law enforcers are trying to establish all the circumstances of the incident and where the attacker obtained the weapon from.
The investigation is ongoing.
