As reported by Censor.NET citing UNIAN, spokesperson for the prosecutor general Larysa Sarhan said that members of the National Police and Prosecutor's Office detained acting chief of the State Service of Geology and Mineral Resources of Ukraine when he was receiving $3,000 in bribe.
"The official extorted and received $3,000 in bribe from a businessman for assistance in obtaining the package of documents necessary for peat extraction," Sarhan wrote on social media.
According the National Police, the official organized corrupt practice as part of which he was demanding bribes from businesses, namely for resolving issues within the range of his professional competence in their favor. The person was detained red-handed while receiving a bribe in his car.
