 Putin to Give $300 a Month to Families of Soldiers Killed in Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on financial compensation to families of soldiers killed or missing in "the exercises".

The relevant law was passed on Wednesday, Censor.NET reports.

According to the law, a monthly payment can be claimed by family of a "soldier or citizen, recruited for military training, missing while performing the military duty."

The amount of compensation will be determined by dividing in regard for each member of the family of the deceased or missing of the "compensation established ... for the group 1 disabled person" (14 thousand rubles).

The law will come into force on Jan.1, 2016.

The Russian soldiers fighting in the Donbas stated that they were called in on an "exercise" in the Rostov region.

According to the estimates of human rights activists, a few thousand Russian soldiers have already died or went missing in Ukraine and were announced deserters or were discharged from the army in hindsight.
