As reported by Censor.NET citing the latest update by the JFO headquarters press center as of Aug. 16, the enemy opened fire on the positions of Ukrainian troops 30 times using weapons banned by the Minsk agreements in five cases.
"The Russian occupation forces committed attacks using grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns and small arms as well as used armament of the infantry fighting vehicles, BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launchers, 120-mm and 82 mm mortars at certain sections of the frontline.
"The defenders of Krymske, Novozvanivka, Svitlodarsk, Luhanske, Novhorodske, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Novotroitske, Hnutove, Lebedynske, Pavlopil, Vodiane and Shyrokyne came under enemy fire. Besides, the invaders shelled the Ukrainian troops deployed in the vicinity of Svitlodarsk with Grad multiple launch rocket systems and 120-mm mortars. The defenders of Krymske, Luhanske and Novhorodske were bombarded with 82 mm mortars," the situation report reads.
Today, Aug. 17, combined Russian-separatist forces fired upon the Ukrainian troops’ strongholds on the outskirts of Novoluhanske, Marinka, Vodiane and Lebedynske six times.
No Ukrainian soldier was killed or wounded in action over the past 24 hours. Intelligence sources indicate two invaders wounded in retaliatory strikes.
