 Situation near Smile Checkpoint Is Difficult. Terrorists Are Firing Mortars - NSDC

The situation at the 32d checkpoint near Smile village, where fighting was reported in the last days, is tense, but it remains under control of Ukrainian troops.

Speaker of the Information Analysis Center of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Volodymyr Poliovyi said it at a briefing, Censor.NET writes.

"Attacks with mortars and small arms continue. Our soldiers return fire and implement anti-sabotage measures. 6 out of 11 troops who went missing a few days ago have returned safely. The search continues. In order to preserve the soldiers' lives, details of the operation are not disclosed," Poliovyi said.
