 National Bank Expects Investment in Ukraine to Exceed $19 Billion

The National Bank of Ukraine expects that the international financial institutions to allocate more than 19 billion dollars for projects in Ukraine.

Head of the NBU Valeria Hontareva told reporters summarizing the official visit of the Ukrainian delegation to Washington, Censor.NET informs citing UNIAN.

Earlier, IMF managing director Christine Lagarde noted that the stabilization of Ukraine's economy requires additional external financing besides the program of cooperation with the IMF.

Herewith, the Fund analysts predicted that Ukraine's need for external financing until the end of 2015 will be no less than 19 billion dollars in the conditions of the hostilities continuation.

"As for the $ 19 billion, there is even greater sum within the projects I can see right now. But all the numbers should be confirmed by real projects," she said.

Head of the NBU said that the Ukrainian delegation, which she headed, received in Washington unprecedented support from all international organizations and investors.

"While the geopolitical risks associated with Ukraine threaten economic development of the entire world everyone understands what a devastating impact they have on the Ukrainian economy. I have not ever seen such an unprecedented support from the entire world we have received today," she said.
