"The JFO units responded adequately to the enemy’s provocative actions," the statement reads.
According to the JFO HQ, the Russian-occupation troops intensified attacks at dusk and during hours of darkness: the occupiers mortar-shelled the Ukrainian forces’ positions near Krymske and Novotoshkivske villages in Luhansk direction around 7 p.m. and at midnight. One defender of Krymske was wounded in a mortar strike.
The enemy also used weapons banned by the Minsk agreements at Donetsk section of the forefront on the outskirts of Pisky and Starohnativka villages.
In Mariupol direction, small arms fire was recorded in the vicinity of Pyshchevyk, Hnutove, Vodiane, and Shyrokyne villages.
"The proper field engineering and adequate response to the attacks allowed the JFO units avert losses and further escalation of hostilities," the report reads.
Intelligence sources indicate five invaders injured over the past day.
The JFO HQ also reported no combat losses among the Ukrainian soldiers today, June 18.
