Kyiv police prevent Russian consul Zavorin from drunk driving, - journalist Lunkova. PHOTOS

Journalist Aliona Lunkova reported the police on drunken chief of Kyiv-based Russian consular department Ivan Zavorin who intended to use the official car after visiting a restaurant.

"Drunken Russian consul behind the wheel: they are killing us in the Donbas; they are would be assassins while drunk driving in the capital city. We were having a dinner at Chachapuri (Georgian restaurant in Kyiv – Ed.) when spotted chief of the Russian consular department to Ukraine who was taking a drink. He got behind the wheel after finishing his meal. (The Russian consul to Ukraine eating in a Georgian restaurant is quite symbolic)," the journalist wrote on social media, Censor.NET reports.

"They seem to feel that they can act with impunity everywhere. We called the police, though I was able to get through only at the fourth attempt. But they arrived quickly. Ivan Zavorin refused to pass sobriety test. The patrol police did not let him drive and he left on foot. There is nothing more the police can do to the ‘diplomats’," she said.
