As reported by Censor.NET citing the latest update by the Joint forces operation (JFO) press service as of May 24, 2018, the most intense hostilities were recorded on the outskirts of Luhanske, Zaitseve, Novoluhanske, Novoselivka, Novotroitske, Bohdanivka, Hranitne, and Chermalyk.
"The Russian-occupation troops committed 36 attacks including 12 artillery and mortar strikes. JFO units maintained active defense and adequately responded to the enemy assaults along the entire contact line," the statement reads.
The invaders reportedly continue violating the norms of the international humanitarian law: "They bombarded the town of Toretsk with 152-mm cannons and 120-mm mortars yesterday morning. The Russian-occupation troops fired a total of 35 artillery and mortar shells upon the town. The enemy also insidiously shelled Stara Mykolaivka village with 152-mm cannons at 4:45 a.m. As usually, the origin of fire was in a residential neighborhood of Horlivka."
"Intelligence sources report four Russian-backed militants killed and another five injured in retaliation fire," the agency said.
