In particular, answering a reporter's question regarding how many people are still in captivity and whether it is true that " the "DPR" says that they still have about 600 Ukrainians, and the Ukrainian side says about 400 people," Budyk admitted that this information "in general, is true."
Of these prisoners, according Budyk, "about 240 are soldiers of the Army."
"The rest are members of volunteer battalions, the National Guard, the Interior Ministry. But this figure does not include volunteers and civilians. So we can only guess the exact number on the basis of requests from relatives that we got," Budyk said, answering the question, many Ukrainian soldiers are still in captivity.

These people do not fall within the definition of POWs, Budyk explained.
