National Corps members set to hold protest outside Inter TV channel co-owner’s house following controversial statements by TV hosts. VIDEO

The members of the National Corps NGO came to a luxury single home housing development looking for the mansion of Opposition Bloc faction MP Serhii Liovochkin who co-owns ill-famed Inter TV channel.

As reported by Censor.NET citing Radio Svoboda, several clashes between the activists and the police took place before the protest. The turmoil was subsequently curbed by the rally organizers who came between the law enforcers and protesters. The activists later removed illegal fences that blocked free passage to local Kozynka River.

Earlier, the members of National Corps and National Squads NGOs gathered outside the Kyiv-based Inter TV channel headquarters on the morning of May 9. They demanded that the controversial ‘propaganda statements’ voiced during the Victory Day concert be cut away and the channel be deprived of its license. The activists pasted over the building with yellow stickers saying "Inter will be ours," "Let's make Inter Ukrainian," and "Let’s make Inter more patriotic."

The footage of the concert dedicated to the Victory Day, which popped up on the Internet on May 9, show the TV hosts saying: "We cannot let the streets of our cities to be named after fascist criminals and their portraits being carried by the torchlight processions marching across our capital city with impunity."

The concert that sparked protest was aired at 8:30 p.m. on the same day.
