"Approximately by the end of this summer, according to our estimates, Ukraine still had about 2,200 monuments to Lenin. But we are talking about the monuments. We do not include the bas-reliefs, high reliefs, busts, and other parts of the body of this great leader. This is a large number although as of August 1991 there were 5500 such monuments," Shpak said.

According to her, during the current "Lenin fall season" about 300 Lenin monuments and 50-70 other Soviet figures were demolished.
